2 more die of Covid, 167 new infections

Two Covid-related deaths were recorded in Goa on Tuesday raising the Covid victim count in the State to 679.

The deceased persons include a 65-year-old man from Margao, who passed away at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim and a 58-year-old man from Assagao who was brought dead at Asilo Hospital in Mapusa and tested positive for Covid-19 post-mortem with no prior symptoms.

On a positive note, the Covid testing in Goa has finally touched 2,000. Of the 2,004 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 167 new cases of the infection were detected in Goa taking the total confirmed cases to 47,068. 

Of these, 45,168 patients, 95.96 per cent of the total confirmed cases, have recovered so far. Presently, 1,221 cases are active.
