Health authorities are on alert following a rise in Covid cases in different parts of Canacona taluka in the last few days.
Canacona taluka recorded 17 Covid cases in the last four days, 15 of them in Canacona municipality alone, taking the overall total to 709 infections in Canacona taluka.
According to Health Officer Dr Vandana Desai, 4 cases from Canacona municipality were detected on Saturday, while 2 cases in Canacona municipality and one each at Gaondongrim and Khola villages were detected on Sunday.
Canacona municipality also recorded three cases on Monday and six cases on Tuesday.
The active Covid cases have now risen to 43 in Canacona taluka. Ten people have already succumbed to the virus, while 656 people have recovered till date.
