PERNEM
The total Covid count rose to 1,422 in Pernem taluka, after 21 new cases were detected on Thursday.
The new cases were reported in Mandrem (3), Agarwada (4), Arambol (1), Tuem (1), Alorna (1), Poraskade (1), Kasarwarne (1), Naibag (1) and Pernem town (8).
Despite the steady rise in cases, the Covid care centre at Sawalwaddo is yet to be thrown open even after 3 months have passed since the announcement of the centre.
At present, all patients from Pernem are sent to Covid centres in other parts of the State, including Ponda, Margao and Calangute.
