29-yr-old Bengaluru musician drowns off Rajbhag beach

CANACONA

A trip to Goa ended in tragedy for a Bengaluru family when a 29-year-old musician drowned while swimming at Rajbhag beach in Canacona early Thursday morning.

According to Canacona police, the family of four had driven from Bengaluru to Goa on May 27 and had stayed at Palolem beach.

On Thursday morning, all four headed to Rajbhag beach and decided to swim in the sea.

A strong wave pulled Clement Stenley into the sea and noticing him struggling, the parents and sister raised an alarm.

Life savers rushed to his rescue in a jet ski and pulled an unconscious Clement ashore.

They tried to revive the youth and rushed him to the Canacona Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later sent for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital at Margao.

Police further informed the deceased was a musician by profession and was involved in a music school at Bengaluru.

LPSI Anjali Gaonkar is investigating the case under the supervision of Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai.
