MARGAO: In a tragic accident, a 29-year-old two-wheeler rider, Ashit Saha, was killed in a hit-and-run accident at Varca past midnight.
The driver of the ill-fated private car was later intercepted by the Ponda police when the driver tried to flee to Belagavi.
Colva police station in-charge, PI Therron D’Costa, informed that the rider died after the car rammed against the two-wheeler before fleeing away.
He said the Ponda police intercepted the car, which was heading to Belagavi based on the wireless messages flashed by the Colva police.
PI Therron further said the rider was declared brought dead at the hospital. Further investigations are on.
