A 32-year-old man from Nepal was found murdered in the open fields near the new bus stand at Mapusa. Three persons have been taken into custody in this connection.The deceased, Nabin B K, was last employed with a security company and the incident came to light on Saturday at about 3 pm.
The police were informed that a body was lying in the fields and a police rushed to the spot. The victim had injuries on his neck which were caused due to a broken glass bottle. The police also found an alcohol bottle broken near the body and glass pieces scattered around. One backpack was also found with clothes, file with medical reports and victim’s identity card.
The police suspect that the murder took place on Friday night.
The victim was working with a company that supplied security guards. He had taken leave in November 2022 and returned to his native place. After that, he did not resume duties with the company.
North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan, DySP Jivba Dalvi, DySP Sunil Patil, DySP Viraj Korgaonkar and PI Paresh Naik visited the site to supervise the investigations.
“We have formed two teams for inquiry, and are studying the CCTV footage. This is a case of murder and we have registered the crime,” said North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan.
