The Fatorda Police has registered a case against five persons for cheating a resident of Margao to the tune of Rs 62.64 lakh on the promise of selling a property located in Chinchinim village.
In his complaint, Abdul Gafoor Ahmed Shaikh, resident of osa Mystic Building Sirvodem-Salcete, complained that on December12, 2024 at the Office of Civil Registrar Cum - Sub Registrar Salcete, Margao, the accused person namely Maria De Fatima Valentine De Sa Reis Fernandes, Rommel Wellington Dos Reis Fernandes, Tina Dos Reis Fernandes, Reuben Schiegel Teodorinho Dos Reis Fernandes, all residents of Chinchinim, and Yashin ( Nabeel) Esmail Sha, a resident of Mugali, Sao Jose De Areal, with their common intention, introduced the complainant to a property in Chinchinim allegedly belonging to them.
He alleged that the accused persons, using a Power Of Attorney, approached him and induced the him to purchase the plot, admeasuring 920 sq.Mtrs at Chinchinim by allegedly concealing the fact that the said plot was already sold to another buyer by the accused person, vide deed of sale dated 7/11/2023 registered in the office of Civil Registrar Cum Sub Registrar Salcete, Margao.
He further alleged that the accused persons subsequently dishonestly executed a deed of sale of the same plot bearing survey no. 305/2-A of village Chinchinim before Civil Repgistrar - cum- Sub Registrar Salcete on December 12, 2024 by deceiving him, thereby cheating him to the tune amount of RS. 62.64 lakhs, which was transferred into the bank account of accused persons by him on different occasions.
The Fatorda police has registered a case under section 318(4) 322 rlw 3(5) of BNS Act 2023.
