HC ruling unmasks bid by govt to loot under guise of devpt: Cong

MARGAO

South Goa district Congress president Savio D’Silva has said the High Court’s order striking down of rules under Section 17(2) of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act has unmasked yet another attempt by the BJP government to loot Goa’s land under the guise of “development for Goans.”

He said the people of Goa have always been wary of the BJP’s sinister agenda to sell the state piece by piece.

“Whether it’s land conversions, hill cuttings, or backdoor amendments, this corrupt government has consistently worked against the interests of Goans. Now, their latest conspiracy has been struck down by the High Court, proving that their so-called “development” is nothing but a sham to benefit their crony capitalists”, he added.

Savio has warned the BJP government that Goans will not remain silent if the government does not respect the High Court’s judgment and continues its shady dealings to dilute land laws.

“We will launch a massive statewide agitation to protect Goa’s land and identity. Every Goan must rise against this land loot, and we are ready to take this fight to every village and constituency across the state”, he warned.
