6 booked for constructing illegal wall on public road at Arossim

VASCO: Verna police have registered an offence after an alleged bid to block the access road to a hotel project at Arossim by constructing a wall on a public road. As per a complaint by Bernard Dias, the incident took place between February 8 and 10. The accused named are Jose Joaquim Ferandes, Simao D’Silva, Darick Azavedo, Macklin Rodrigues, Alex Azavedo and Benny D’Silva, along with others yet to be identified.

The complaint states that the wall caused unauthorised damage and alteration to public property. When staff and workers objected, they were allegedly abused and threatened with serious consequences, including death threats. Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
