Six more patients succumbed to Covid-19 in Goa raising the death toll to 544.
Of the six deaths, five were recorded at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim while one was reported at ESI Covid Hospital in Margao.
The deceased persons include a 39 year-old woman from Cortalim, a 51-year-old man from Sanguem, a 68 -year-old man from Curtorim, a 75-year-old man from Pernem, an 80-year-old woman from Vasco and a 48-year-old man from Sindhudurg in Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, a marked drop was observed in the number of fresh cases of the infection detected in the State in the last 24 hours with only 187 new cases being added to the tally.
The total confirmed cases now stand at 40,587 of whom 36,395 have recovered. A total of 3,648 cases are presently active.
