PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party while slamming the government for taking action against various vendors in CCP market Panaji gave an ultimatum of 48 hours to The Corporation of the City of Panaji to return the goods of the small vendors which the CCP confiscated without notice.
"The CCP has confiscated goods of our small vendors without any notice. They did this in the middle of the night just like thieves. The CCP must return the goods within 48 hours, failing which, AAP along with vendors will protest at the market complex," said AAP leader Valmiki Naik.
Naik said that Atanasio alias Babush Monseratte's threat to field 80 per cent new faces at the City Corporation of Panjim elections is nothing but a gimmick to control it, said AAP.
AAP leader Cecille Rodriguez while speaking against Uday Madkaikar’s son contesting the CCP election said: “Family Raj must stop. Every politician tries to promote their kith and kin, people need to be vigilant and nepotism needs to stop." Her statement came after Babush said that he is looking for new faces for the ensuing CCP election and Uday Madkaikar’s son could be a viable candidate.
Rodrigues while asserting that AAP will oppose the merging of Taleigao with Panjim said Monseratte wants it only to benefit the real estate lobby whose kingpin he is.
Valmiki said the CCP councillors were terrorising the market vendors who were compelled not to take money for the purchases made by the councillors.
