AAP holds Veez Andolan in Navelim, deliberates on basic amenities

PANAJI
The Aam Aadmi Party organised a Veez Andolan in Navelim on Saturday wherein the party deliberated on various basic amenities.

A vociferous local Inacinha Faleiro demanded to know why Goans do not get quality power at a cheaper rate like in Delhi at the Veej Andolan at Navelim.

Addressing the villagers at Ghantamorod in Navelim assembly constituency, AAP spokesperson Adv Surel Tilve explained the difference between Goa and Delhi power policy.

He pointed out that in Delhi people get a rebate if there is an unannounced power cut while in Goa power failures are regular. “Those consuming 200 units of power get zero bill while those consuming up to 400 units are billed only 50 per cent in Delhi while in Goa the bills are high,” he said.

AAP spokesperson Sandesh Telekar pointed out that in Delhi 27 services of the government are delivered to people’s houses instead of people going to the department. He also lamented that in Goa medicines are not free even at GMC while in Delhi not only medicines but treatment including surgeries are free.

Surel said that by spending only Rs 30,000 on each resident of Delhi the government gives so much including free travel to women and asked what are Goans getting when the government spends Rs 1.40 lakh on each Goan.

Around 30 residents from Navelim joined the meeting.
