The Aam Aadmi Party delegation met freedom fighters Suresh Parodkar and Nagesh Chari who have started a fast-unto-death at Azad Maidan after the Pramod Sawant government continued to deny the jobs and benefits that were promised to the children of freedom fighters.
AAP leader Valmiki Naik slammed the Sawant-led government for making grand announcements of 10,000 government jobs just prior to the ZP election, but not bothering to give just 100 out of these to the children of the freedom fighters as promised by the BJP government in 2013. Naik demanded that the CM personally visit the freedom fighters at Azad Maidan with a written assurance to fulfill all the demands of the children of freedom fighters, otherwise he would be responsible for any deterioration of health of the 80-85 year old freedom fighters who are fasting.
