Two students of Std 10 at a reputed school in Vasco tested Covid positive on Saturday, prompting the school to suspend all classes for about a week.
As news broke out that the students had tested positive, there was some panic and many parents wanted to test their children for Covid.
However, a source in the school said there was no cause for concern as the students who had tested positive had not come to the school in the last few days.
"The parents of both students notified the school and we immediately closed our classes and sent the students home. Both were in the same class and were studying together," said the source.
"The school will be closed for a week now and we will have online classes for the entire next week. We will also inform the government about the incident and follow the rules and guidelines as per SOPs and only then decide the next course of action.”
“It is good that the students who had tested Covid positive were not present in the school since the last few days as it will reduce fear among staff, students and their parents. We sanitise the school every day and hence there is nothing much to worry about," said the source
