Police shelters are being placed at strategic locations for the benefit of traffic cops. However it has been noticed that the same are lying unused by the traffic cops controlling vehicular traffic.
The one placed at the junction in the vicinity of Shree Vithoba temple at Upper Bazaar has been lying idle for quite long. Cops deputed on duty here have been occupying the roadside on most occasions.
Under such circumstances, the said police shelter tends to be useless. In the absence of any cop, a stray dog has been occupying it for relaxation purpose.
Taking this fact into consideration it would be appropriate for the traffic department in Ponda to shift it to its premises so that the same could be utilised at any location as and when needed.
Let us hope that needful positive action would follow in this regard at the earliest.
