AAP MLA Venzy loses cool, argues with IO over conduct of probe

OLD GOA

AAP MLA Venzy Viegas lost his cool midway through the investigation of state party president Amit Palekar and had an argument with the investigation officer over the way the probe was conducted.

When questioned by reporters, Viegas said, "The way the police is functioning it looks like everybody is hands in gloves. There are two MLAs sitting and they are speaking over the phone. There was no seriousness."

"The situation is such that on the eve of Christmas we will have to appear before the police. This is nothing but harassment. We stand by our state party president Amit Palekar and we are going to take the government head on," Viegas stated.

"We will ensure that we will crush the revenge politics of the BJP and the corruption that they have promoted in the State," he added.

Meanwhile, earlier AAP state president Amit Palekar also threatened to walk out of the investigation when around four hours had passed.

"It's been around four hours now and I need to go to my family. I did not even have my lunch," Palekar said. "You either arrest me or I am gone," Palekar threatened after which the Old Goa PI Satish Padwalkar came and took over.

Also, AAP leaders held a brief sit-in protest outside the Old Goa police station over the prolonged interrogation of their state party president, while chanting slogans against the government.
