A day after his questioning, activist Rama Kankonkar was on Friday arrested by Panaji police for allegedly making threatening, hateful and derogatory statements against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
He will be produced before the local court on Saturday for police remand.
As per the FIR registered under non-bailable sections against Kankonkar on Wednesday, the police stated that his remarks were likely to create or promote enmity among the public and incite them against the Chief Minister.
The police issued a notice to Kankonkar on the same day and recorded his statement on Thursday.
