The budget estimates for the current financial year and discussion on the audit report dominated the gram sabha meeting of the village panchayat of Assolna on Sunday.
The meeting chaired by Sarpanch Ivon Fernandes saw members highlighting the audit report which had raised several queries on a host of issues, including variations in the balance sheet, salaries paid to the staff, failed to maintain service book of the employees et al.
The meeting also saw the chairman of the Bio-diversity Management Committee Fredrick Borges placing before the gram sabha the People’s Bio-diversity Register.
