Bail pleas of two in drugs case rejected

The Additional Sessions Court, Mapusa has dismissed the bail applications of Goutham M and Shilna in connection with the Golden Triangle-based drug smuggling racket worth Rs 11.67 crore.  

The duo was arrested in one of the biggest drug seizures involving youths from Kerala and Karnataka. 

Three accused are already in custody while Look-Out Circulars and a Blue Notice have been issued against other gang members hiding in Thailand. 

Goutham M, a 26-year-old native of Bengaluru residing in Mapusa, was the first to be arrested on March 8 while his interrogation led to the arrest of Shilna on March 12 from Bengaluru. 

As per the probe by the Crime Branch, Shilna is a key member of the group operating from Bangkok and coordinates with local suppliers in Bengaluru.
