Bicholim kidnapping case cracked in 72 hrs; girl safe, loot recovered

PANAJI: A minor girl from Bicholim, reported kidnapped on April 5, was traced to Bagalkot in Karnataka and rescued safely within three days.
According to sources, the complainant had reported that her minor daughter had been kidnapped by an unknown person. Gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash were also found missing from their residence. An offence was subsequently registered at Bicholim Police Station, and an investigation was launched.
During the probe, technical surveillance, human intelligence, and CCTV footage analysis were used to track the minor’s movement. On April 7, her location was traced to the Bagalkot district.
A team rushed to Kudal Sangam and, with the assistance of local police, rescued the girl from the Sangameshwara fair around 1.30 am on April 8.
The missing gold ornaments and cash were found in the possession of the minor and were seized under panchanama.
