Former RSS chief of Goa Subhash Velingkar on Saturday alleged that BJP is running a political vendetta against him and his family. Velingkar said that while he was the opponent of Congress they never played vindictive politics against each other.
Velingkar criticised the arrest of his son Shailendra Velingkar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for protesting in Shel-Melauli against the IIT project.
Due to the difference with the BJP during the tenure of Manohar Parrikar, Velingkar had to leave the position of RSS chief and had launched his own outfit Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch to take on the government.
Velingkar alleged that BJP in Goa is using the government machinery to harass his family.
Velinkar has blamed specific BJP leaders like Satish Dhond, Sadanand Tanavade and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for vindictive politics against his family.
Velingkar said that under the instruction of the Goa government his son was badly beaten in the custody of police who has been framed for various crimes.
JMFC Margao has asked to submit a fresh medical report while Shailendra was transferred to judicial lockup.
