The body of an unidentified woman was found lying on the railway tracks at Shantinagar early Tuesday morning.
According to sources, local residents first spotted the body and immediately notified the Vasco Police, who then informed the Vasco Railway Police of the incident.
Authorities went to the scene and conducted an initial investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the woman was struck by a moving train in the morning hours, with the impact likely causing her death.
“The identity of the woman has not yet been ascertained, but investigations are ongoing,” a source said.
Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and further investigations are being conducted to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
