In yet another horrific accident, a passenger bus turned turtle and fell off the narrow road at Bethora in the early hours of Saturday.
The bus was carrying as many as 35 passengers, mostly consisting of college students. The injured were immediately shifted to sub-district hospital Ponda as locals, panch members and others came to their rescue.
Minister Subhash Shirodkar visited the injured at the hospital and inquired about their health. Speaking to a section of reporters later, the minister asked the bus drivers to follow safe driving to ensure everyone's safety. He also assured to improve the narrow road stretch after the locals pointed out frequent road mishaps at the site.
Police sources said that driver claimed he lost control owing to a technical glitch resulting in the accident.
It has been learnt that the government has undertaken widening work but it was halted for unknown reason.
