The Crime Branch (CB) on Monday raised questions about Pooja Sharma’s denial in the Assagao house demolition asking why she came forward to assure the Agarwadekar family about reconstructing the partially demolished structure.
“Why did she come forward, through her representative, to reconstruct the demolished house if she was not involved?” the PP questioned as he made his submission challenging Sharma’s anticipatory bail plea. The Principal Sessions Court has reserved the order on her application for Wednesday.
The house was partially demolished until a major controversy erupted on June 22, involving several persons and questioning the role of the Goa Police. Eight arrests were made of whom six are on bail while Sharma continued to evade the police.
During arguments on Monday, the PP also called for a thorough investigation into the role of Arshad Khawaja in the sale of the property to Sharma. Despite Sharma’s claims of ownership, the Agarwadekar family submitted electricity and water bills, as well as house tax receipts in the name of Pradeep Agarwadekar.
