Days after busting a gang of chain snatchers, the Maina-Curtorim police achieved another breakthrough when the men-in-uniform managed to recover gold articles weighing 182 grams valued approximately Rs 8 lakh in the market.
District police chief, SP Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that the police has recovered the gold articles during investigations after the arrest of the two accused persons and the receiver of the property.
The SP, South said the police are conducting further investigations into the cases of chain snatching that had taken place across the State in recent days. The police has been on record stating that they have investigated into more than 10 chain-snatching cases reported in recent days with the arrest of the duo.
The police had arrested Mohammed Sarfaraz (21), resident of Davorlim, Ajay@Rooney (24), resident of Ponda, and native of Belgaum and the receiver Lilesh Lotlikar, r/o Borda Margao in connection with the case. The police has also recovered and attached the KTM bike used in the crime has been recovered by the police.
