Shivram Tukoji and Vishakha Gadekar are set to be elected unopposed as chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively at the Pernem Municipal Council (PMC).
Tukoji and Gadekar submitted their nominations on Friday after both posts fell vacant following the resignations of PMC Chairperson Siddesh Pednekar and Vice-Chairperson Ashwini Palyekar.
A special meeting to hold elections for both posts has been convened at 11 am on April 8 in the PMC office.
Tukoji's candidature was proposed by Councillor Manoj Harmalkar, while Gadekar's candidature was proposed by Ashwini Palyekar.
Former PMC chairperson Siddesh Pednekar, Councillors Usha Nagvekar, Ashwini Palyekar, Tripti Saval Desai, Manoj Harmalkar and Madhav Sinai Desai were present when Tukoji and Gadekar submitted their nominations.
