MARGAO
The special gram sabha of Chinchinim village panchayat on Sunday celebrated National Panchayat Day by adopting a resolution for a healthy and child friendly village, clean and green village and village with good governance.
The panchayat took the occasion to felicitate a number of personalities including district Police Chief, South SP Sammy Tavares, Salcete BDO Amitesh Shirvaikar, Margao Station fire officer Gill D’Souza. Velim MLA Cruz Silva who was invited as the Chief Guest was also honoured.
Sarpanch Inacina Rebello welcomed the gathering as the guests were all felicitated by the panchayat for their services. All the Village Development Committee (VDC) members were also felicitated for their active support. Tiatr artist from the village were also honoured on the occasion.
The panchayat did a presentation of all the works and activities undertaken by the panchayat for the last five years and also pending projects and thanked everyone for their participation and cooperation. Dy Sarpanch Valentino Barreto proposed the vote of thanks.
