Continuing with its awareness programmes against the double-tracking project, Goyant Kollso Naka explained to the people of Chinchinim village how the double-tracking and coal transportation projects will spell doom for Goa and Goans.
At a power-point presentation, Goyant Kollso Naka co-convenor Abhijit Prabhudesai explained the dangers posed to Goa with the Centre rushing to implement the Sagarmala project.
He pointed out that the double-tracking project is not in the interest of the people of Goa, but is being implemented by the government for the benefit of a few corporates.
The power point presentation was held in the village ahead of the Goyant Kollso Naka yatra planned on Friday, which is expected to start from Betul and which will wend its way in Velim constituency before entering Cuncolim.
While making a plea to the people of Velim constituency to join the yatra on Friday, Abhijit requested the people to join the villagers of Chandor and Guirdolim on the intervening night of November 1-2 to stop the Railways from executing work on the double-tracking project at the Chandor railway station.
Reminding that Goyant Kollso Naka that kick-started the yatra against the double-tracking and coal transportation project from Chandor a month ago, Abhijit requested the people of Goa to come in large numbers at the Chandor railway crossing on the intervening night of November 1-2.
