CM opens up on missing cut for MBBS course by 4%

PORVORIM
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claimed that passing exams had become easier in current times and narrated an anecdote in his personal life to prove the point.

“Earlier, only 50-60 per cent of students would pass the SSC exams but nowadays, passing SSC has become easy and the passing percentage now is around 98%,” said Sawant.

Sawant then turned to his own experience and said he had appeared for the SSC exams in 1988 and had secured only 59.5%. “Somehow, I managed to get admission to the Ravi Naik Science College as it was a new college. They needed students for the science faculty. I appeared for the Std 12 examination twice. The first time, I took a drop as I felt I would not get a good percentage to secure admission for a medical course. In my second attempt, I got only 78%. That year, students who secured 82% got admission to MBBS degree course. I missed admission to MBBS by 4%. Hence, I had to join the Ayurvedic college,” Sawant said.
