CM: Swayampurna Goa to be implemented in urban areas

PANAJI
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed that the government’s vision of ‘Swayampurna Goa’ shall be shortly implemented in the urban areas at a meeting with officials of various departments on Tuesday, to discuss about how the concept can spread its wings in the municipal areas.

Director of Planning and Statistics Dr Y Durgaprasad, Director of Municipal Administration Dr Tariq Thomas, IAS, Director of Industries, Trade and Commerce Dipak M Bandekar, Director of Technical Education Vivek Kamat, Jt Secretary to Chief Minister VP Dangui was present for the same.

The Chief Minister informed that the government’s vision of ‘Swayampurna Goa’ shall be shortly implemented in the urban areas by creating skilled man force for which Directorate of Education, Higher Education and GIPARD will make a survey. 

“The survey will focus on the type of manpower required in the State and how to place this manpower in the private sector. The government has consulted Directorate of Technical Education, Industries and Labour Department to send a report on the same. Creation of skilled man power has been the motto. This will also help in gaining employment to the youth,” remarked the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister appealed to the youth to involve in the Swayampurna Goa Mission by contributing their ideas and the active participation at the inaugural function of the State Youth Parliament Programme, jointly organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, North and South Goa District at Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto, Panaji.

Four participants from Goa have been selected by the Nehru Yuva Kendra who presented their live performance on Tuesday. Selected participants will present at National Youth Parliament Festival 2021 at New Delhi.

After inauguration, while addressing the youth, the Chief Minister informed about youth policy of the State and said various programmes will be conducted during forthcoming youth week celebrations which will begin from January 12.

Quoting the thoughts of Swami Vivekanand, the Chief Minister said, the reason for every misunderstanding in our life is that we look at the people as we are but in reality not as they are. He said youth should lead the society by keeping in mind the thoughts and principles of Swamiji, arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is achieved.
