A man from Tivim has been arrested on charges of attacking his son in their house, over what is believed to be a family dispute.
According to reports, Santosh Mandrekar (61) and his son, Ashwin (23) had been involved in a family dispute.
Ashwin was asleep in his room, when Santosh allegedly struck him on the head with a hammer. Ashwin was injured in the attack and his cries for help alerted the family and neighbours. Ashwin was rushed to the District Hospital, from where he was shifted to the GMC hospital.
Mapusa police have arrested Santosh Mandrekar under Section 307 of IPC and PSI Kiran Naik is conducting further investigation.
