PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant insisted on regenerative tourism as he claimed this revenue-generating sector offers over 2 lakh employment opportunities for Goans.
Speaking at an event in Raj Bhavan on the eve of World Tourism Day today, CM also mentioned that the youth have vast opportunities in Goa's tourism sector.
The CM further highlighted the government's continuous efforts to boost tourism and skill development in the State, stating that tourism is a major pillar of Goa’s economy, along with agriculture and industry.
"There is immense potential in the tourism sector to foster entrepreneurship and generate employment. We are committed to promoting creativity and innovation in the sector," he added.
With more than 2 lakh jobs available in the tourism sector, Sawant reassured Goans about the vast employment potential.
"There is increasing demand for professionals such as wellness attendants, dialysis technicians, and tourist guides, reflecting the expanding scope of tourism-related services," he said.
