Two trucks transporting 10 tonnes of sand each from Belagavi to Goa were seized by Collem police on Tuesday night as the truck drivers did not have the required permits.
The police later handed over the trucks to the mining department.
The trucks were intercepted at the Mollem check post on Tuesday night. When police inquired about the necessary permissions, the truck drivers admitted they did not have any permit to transport sand from Karnataka to Goa
Both truck drivers were also handed over to mining officials for further enquiries.
