Senior Congress leaders feigned ignorance on the purported resignation by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief Girish Chodankar, as he was neither available on his cell phone or at his residence, as his resignation made news on the social media since Wednesday.
Scribes that descended at his residence at Gogol were informed by his family members that he is expected home by Thursday evening, but in vain.
Even Congress leaders, who paid a visit to the residence of the GPCC president, to find out the truth vis-Ã -vis his resignation, returned back without meeting him or his family members.
When The Goan called up Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat to find out the truth in the resignation episode, the CLP leader said he was not able to contact Girish on Thursday. “I had spoken to Girish on Wednesday morning, before the GPCC chief did not even give a hint that he is planning to quit the post,” Kamat said, adding that he expects to talk to the GPCC chief either on Thursday night or on Friday to find out the exact position.
Senior Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro said he has no idea about the resignation decision taken by the GPCC chief. Similarly, South Goa district Congress president, Joe Dias pointed out that the district committee members have no idea about the resignation sent by Girish, saying they are trying to contact the GPCC chief on the matter.
A couple of scribes that descended at the residence of the GPCC chief also returned back without taking any byte, with his family members saying he is unavailable at home.
