The North district police registered 11 cases of noise pollution against various establishments in the last around five months.
The action comes in compliance with the directions of the High Court of Bombay at Goa regarding noise pollution norms.
Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Akshat Kaushal asserted they have been strictly enforcing regulations to curb violations, ensuring that loud music is not played beyond 10 pm.
Sanngra Spanish Tapus and Music and Diaz Pool Club & Barin, both in Anjuna; Novah Goa Restaurant, Hotel “W” Goa (02 cases), Salud, Hill Top, Club Nine Bar (02 cases); and Thalasha Cliff, all in Vagator; and Thalasa, Wadi Siolim have been booked for the offense in the drive since October 2024.
Kaushal stated that police stations across the district have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance, and violators have been booked under the relevant provisions of the Noise Pollution Act and the Environment Protection Act.
"In some instances, music equipment has been seized as part of the enforcement drive. Strict action will continue against establishments violating noise pollution norms," he said.
