The Margao police has on Friday registered the FIR under section 270 and 290 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint lodged by Rajiv Dinath Naik, a resident of Comba-Margao.

In his written complaint, Naik had alleged that prior to September 16, 2025, Pandurang Anant Naik alias Bhai President of "Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha" and "Managing Committee of Damodar High Schol and  Higher Secondary School, Margao" constructed ground floor and extension of first floor of the Damodar High School and Higher Secondary School Building, without obtaining requisite permissions from the SGPDA, and started running primary section in the building, thereby endangering the lives of about 1000 minor students.

The complainant further alleged that the accused persons has also allegedly caused public nuisance, putting human lives in danger due to his negligent conduct, in construction of the building.

Questioning the rationale behind registering the FIR, Bhai Naik has said that since the Margao police has registered the FIR, the men-in-uniform should go to the concerned department and find out the approvals the Society has taken for the buildings. “I would like to further pray to the police to conduct an impartial probe without taking instructions from anyone”, he said.

Bhai has warned that members of the Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha will not remain silent since they are aware how the sabha is being run over the years. “ I appeal to the police to conduct an impartial inquiry in the complaint”, he added.
