The Cyber Crime police have arrested Kumar Utlasar, the proprietor of M/s Aurinko Diensten in Bengaluru in a high-value cyber fraud case.
Details shared by the investigation team reveal that the accused’s bank account has been linked to cyber fraud activities across nine different states in India, with a cumulative amount of Rs 2.3 crore associated with various fraudulent transactions.
“Through technical and financial analysis, investigators identified a primary suspect based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The suspect, Kumar Utlasar, the proprietor of M/s Aurinko Diensten, had received fraudulent funds directly into the firm’s bank account from the victim’s account and subsequently transferred portions to other accounts. He had diverted Rs 6 lakh to his personal account and utilized it for personal expenses,” said Cyber Crime Cell SP Rahul Gupta.
The team zeroed in on the accused while investigating an FIR based on a complaint filed by a Valpoi local, who was duped of Rs 1.03 crores approx. As per the FIR, prior to October 3, a person using multiple WhatsApp numbers along with others, contacted the complainant through social media and added him to a group named “A-33 High-Quality Stocks Exchange Group.” He was fraudulently induced to invest in upper circuit (UC) and initial public offering (IPO) stocks through the SMIFSMAX App under the pretext of high returns. The victim transferred Rs 1,03,28,000 across various bank accounts through multiple transactions, only to realize he was cheated. The accused has been remanded to police custody.
