South Goa district Collector, Egna Cleetus has called upon all organizations/institutions, departments, government-aided schools, higher secondary schools, colleges in South Goa to constitute the Internal Committee as per the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal (POSH) Act, 2013 on or before December 16.
The district Collector’s fiat to the government departments, besides aided educational institutions, comes days after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at a recent women’s programme held at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao had stressed on the need to enforce the POSH Act in all government departments, besides government aided government schools, higher secondaries and colleges.
In a press note, the Collector stated “it has come to the notice of this office that some Organization/Institutions, Departments, Government aided institutions etc within South Goa District have not yet constituted the Internal Committee as mandated under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act)”.
In this regard, the Collector called upon all the concerned organization, Institutions, departments, government-grant aided schools, higher secondaries, colleges of South Goa District who have not constituted the Internal Committee under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) are hereby called upon to constitute the Internal Committee as per provisions of the POSH Act, 2013 on or before December 16, 2024.
