Elvis resigns from AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party's Goa unit’s former convenor Elvis Gomes on Friday publicly resigned from the primary membership of the Party. Gomes said that afterthought process of two months he has concluded that there is no freedom to work in the party. AAP former General Secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar and some members of the core team also announced their resignation.

Addressing a press conference, Gomes alleged that there is no freedom to work in the party and the Delhi unit is controlling the affairs of the party in Goa.

"The party is handled by a group from Delhi and has been dictating terms to the Goa unit. The ideology of the party has also changed and AAP volunteers should be vigilant against anti-Goa interest,” Gomes said.

Elvis Gomes is a former bureaucrat who after his voluntary retirement from the post was a chief ministerial face during the 2017 state Assembly elections.

Gomes had stepped down from his post as the convenor of the party's state unit in September, claiming that he would be working for at the grassroots level in the state.
