ESG appoints influencers to promote govt initiatives

A year ago, the Goa government launched a Social Media Influencer Policy, under which influencers were appointed to promote government schemes, policies, and programmes. 

The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) was tasked with managing this initiative. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who is also the ESG chairman, stated that the aim is to raise public awareness about the government's development efforts through social media.

As part of the policy, the government pays influencers based on their follower count, with categories ranging from Grade A (100,000+ followers) to Grade D (10,000“24,999 followers). Influencers can earn up to Rs 50,000 for creating content about government initiatives.
