The South Goa Sessions Court on Tuesday has convicted a mother-son duo in connection with the death of their relative, Suryakant Desai over a family feud at Xelvona in the jurisdiction of Curchorem police station in the year 2018.
While the Curchorem police station had filed a charge sheet against the duo, Shevanti and Hemant Desai under section 302 of the IPC for murdering Suryakant Desai, Additional Sessions judge, Pooja Kavlekar has convicted the duo under section 304 Part I read with section 34 of IPC.
The accused will now be heard on the point of sentence on August 24.
Public prosecutor D Korgaonkar represented the state in the case.
In this case which was investigated by PI Ravi Desai, the deceased was hit by a spade on the head over a feud over the construction of a compound wall, which proved fatal as the deceased succumbed to his injured in the hospital.
