A farmer from Navelim James Gomes made a fervent plea to the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Environment Minister Alexio Sequeira, besides the Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar to come and see the state of the fields and water bodies devastated by the rampant discharge of sewage from Margao.
“We often find Minister and officials saying the water treated at the STPs and discharged may be fit for drinking and for bathing. They should all come to Navelim and see the state of the water bodies and take remedial action”, he said, while saying the Chief Minister, Environment Minister and the MLAs should inspect and see the situation affecting the health of the people and the environment.
