Father booked as car driven by 13-yr-old son knocks down man at Colvale

A man has been booked after his 13-year-old son drove a car and knocked down a man at Koniwada, Colvale.

According to Colvale police, the incident took place on Sunday morning, when Vitthal Tari (53) of Koniwada was standing near the door of his house. He was knocked down by a car which was passing on the road. He fell on the roadside drain and was seriously injured. He is presently undergoing treatment in hospital.

Police said the car was driven by a 13-year-old boy and have registered a case against the boy’s father and car owner under Sections 279, 336, 336 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3, 4 and 180 of the Motor Vehicle Act for endangering life by reckless driving.

Further investigation is being conducted by Police Constable Anil Pilgaonkar under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijay Rane.
