Police have arrested all the five tourists who were involved in the attack of the local in Anjuna who later succumbed to his injuries.
Two associates of the deceased have also been arrested based on the counter complaint of the tourists.
A Mapusa court has remanded the five tourists to four-day police custody while the two locals have got two-day police remand.
The autopsy report of the deceased Sagar Shripad Naik has said that the local died of heart attack triggered by the assault.
One of the five accused tourists Muni Venkatesh Narappa who is the driver of the Tata Sumo jeep has suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim.
M Subramanium, Varun Kumar, Tejas and Chetan Naik are the other four tourists who have been arrested in the case.
Based on the counter complaint, police arrested two locals, Gitesh Chimulkar and Sarvesh Haldankar for attacking the tourists.
It may be recalled, the local Sagar Shirpad Naik was thrashed by the tourists resulting in his death on Friday.
After committing the offence, the tourists took off from the spot but were later detained at the border check post at Polem.
Anjuna Police have registered a case of murder against the tourists under section 302 r/w 34 of the IPC.
