GFP to oppose power lines for Tamnar project in Bardez

MAPUSA
Goa Forward Party Working President Kiran Kandolkar on Saturday said his party would oppose the power lines of Goa Tamnar Transmission Project Ltd which is passing through the villages of Bardez.

“Besides Mollem, the Tamnar power project will also affect several other villages in the State. The high tension power lines coming from Karnataka will run through several villages including Tivim, Colvale, Corjuem and Aldona in Bardez. We will oppose the power lines passing through these villages,” Kandolkar said.

The former BJP legislator opined that there was no shortage of power but on the contrary had surplus power.

“This government is trying to create a false notion that Goa will face power shortage in the near future,” Kandolkar said.
