‘Only food processing units at Latambarcem IDC’
BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that only food processing units will be promoted in the Industrial Estate at Latambarcem.
“We have many demands for other projects in this industrial estate, but we have completely rejected them, and a special promotion will be given to food processing projects in this industrial estate. No other units will be approved there,” Sawant said. “Since Mopa Airport is close to this place, our idea is to provide food processing units,” he said.
The Chief Minister appealed to the groups in the area to prepare their produce in the best possible way and to promote it in the national market.
“The State is agriculturally dependent and those who have neglected agriculture should promote agriculture by using modern techniques. The government is committed to providing all kinds of support to promote agriculture,” said Sawant.
