The Utsav is organized with a sole objective to create awareness about the production and consumption of millets, highlighting their nutritional benefits and diverse applications in our daily lives. The event will be launched at the hands of the CM Pramod Sawant and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik.

As per the press statement issued by the department, the ‘Millet Festival’ promises an engaging and informative day, featuring a series of talks and demonstrations on various aspects of millet cultivation, the nutritive value of millets in our diet, parameters and licensing requirements for millet-based foods, and the preparation of value-added products.

A highlight of the event is the millet recipe competition, where participants can showcase their culinary skills and creativity with millet-based dishes.

The festival will also feature entertaining and enlightening Millet-based skits and group songs that convey the important message: “Grow Millets, Eat Millets, Stay Healthy.”
