Govt raises salaries of Ayush doctors under NHM

PANAJI

The State government has hiked the salaries of Ayush doctors on contract basis under the National Health Mission (NHM) programme to Rs 50,000 per month.

The hike in salary will come into force with effect from April 1, 2020.

An order issued by the government has stated that all doctors with a graduate degree in Ayurveda, Homeopathy (BAMS), Degree in Homeopathy (BHMS) will get the benefit of the order.

It may be recalled that these doctors had petitioned Chief Minister Pramod Sawant a few months ago for an increase in salaries from their present Rs 20,000 and Sawant had assured these doctors that their salaries would be hiked.

There are 82 doctors who have been appointed under the National Health Mission programme.

Most of these National Health Mission doctors have been working at primary health centres, sub-health centres, urban health centres and community health centres across the State.
