Goyant Kollso Naka welcomes govt decision to attend public debate on coal projects

MARGAO
Goyant Kollso Naka has welcomed the Goa government’s response through its representative, Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral, agreeing to attend a public debate on coal transportation and coal infrastructure projects.

Goyant Kollso Naka convenor Antonio D’Silva said the NGO is prepared for a public debate with the government representatives at Azad Maidan, Panaji or Lohia Maidan, Margao, at an agreed and well-publicized date and time.

It is mandatory to hold a debate before the people since it is they who must decide on this most important issue, he added.

D’Silva said the people of Goa were kept in the dark by the government on its coal plans. Goyant Kollso Naka is committed to keep all the facts before the people, so that that they decide accordingly in the interest of the state, country and planet,” he asserted.
