GPCC launches ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ to strengthen organisation at grassroot level

PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) announced that the party has launched the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ aimed at strengthening the party structure at the grassroots and district levels.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Shobha Oza, AICC Observer for Goa, said the primary objective of the campaign is to reinforce the organisation at the district level through a transparent and democratic process.

Oza, who has been entrusted with overseeing the organisational restructuring in the district, has begun consultations for the appointment of a new District President for North Goa. “The process includes a democratic procedure in appointing the president, and anyone can apply for the position from any block in North Goa,” said Oza.

Highlighting the key goals of the Abhiyan, Oza emphasised transparency, collective leadership, and accountability. She noted that once appointed, office-bearers will undergo training and their performance will be monitored to ensure responsibility in their roles.

“It is a programme wherein you just can’t become a president and forget about your position. You have to work really hard to connect with the masses, take every worker and leader together and work as per the ideology of the Congress party,” highlighted Oza during the press brief.

During her seven-day visit to Goa, Oza will tour all blocks in North Goa to interact with booth- and block-level workers. She will also meet civil society representatives, NGOs, and prominent citizens to understand local concerns and incorporate their inputs into the party’s organisational and political strategy.
